I was walking through a thrift store one day looking through toys (because I like toys) and I came across the Barbie section. The display consisted of several dolls in plastic bags hanging together at the end of a children's clothing rack. I was fascinated by it. I have always had an issue with Barbie and her message of beauty, but seeing these mini-(mis)representations of women suffocating in plastic, many of them missing their clothing, was the most disturbing image of Barbie and her friends I had seen. I felt the need to capture the images. These are what we are selling to our kids!
So I went home to get my camera and got these photos.
